Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the added 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Scientech Corp (TW:), which rose 9.98% or 5.20 points to trade at 57.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:) added 9.98% or 0.55 points to end at 6.06 and Solytech Enterprise Corp (TW:) was up 9.84% or 0.48 points to 5.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:), which fell 8.79% or 1.45 points to trade at 15.05 at the close. Universal Microelectronics Co Ltd (TW:) declined 4.10% or 1.00 points to end at 23.40 and Asmedia Technology Inc (TW:) was down 4.07% or 25.00 points to 589.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 509 to 259 and 145 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.20% or 0.64 to $53.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.10% or 0.67 to hit $61.76 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1282.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.14% to 30.818, while TWD/CNY fell 0.07% to 0.2195.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 96.123.
